Under the direction of Brian Laakso, our music program is expanding to bring a wide cultural variety of music from many unique artists. In addition to the choir and UUCA Band, we also feature guest musicians during church services to highlight musical talents within our community. If you are interested in performing for a service or joining one of our groups, please contact Brian at music@uuakron.org.

Chancel Choir

Our chancel choir sings twice a month at our 10:30 AM services throughout the church year, with summers off. They are also featured during special music services in December and May. Their repertoire includes a wide variety of music sourced from many different genres. The choir is an inclusive group that welcomes a variety of singing abilities and serves to bring a sense of musical community and belonging to those who love to sing together. We’re always accepting new members! Please contact Brian at music@uuakron.org.

UUCA Band

The UUCA Band brings jazz and pop standards to life during one service per month during the church year, with summers off. They are a modern band, consisting of guitar, bass, drums, keys, and violin. They play popular music the congregation loves, and they add an upbeat vibe to services. They are also featured during special music services in December and May. Check upcoming services so you don’t miss them!
