| So many of you enjoyed my Minister’s report at the Annual Meeting, I thought I would present it here for your further reflection! Looking forward to a very happy new year among you, serving as your minister. |
| ‘Twas the Sunday before Christmas and all through Hannah Hall, the congregation wondered did the minister love them all? “Last spring we did call him, and come yes he did. And preached to the church, but some they stay hid.” For COVID was running rampant through the land. And tech was still needed to give worship a hand. The minister did notice but went straight to his work. He didn’t want to have the new church call him, a jerk. He was busy and confused, but the staff they did help. And showed him the way (so the old timers won’t yelp!) The board was most helpful; in a retreat they did host. To learn how to work in Harmony the most. The minister was grateful, and he said to this lot: “On Libby! On Samuel! On Mary Jo and Clint. On Al! and William who will fill out a stint. To the top of the sanctuary down to Hannah Hall. You serve most admirably the interest of all.” And the people all shouted, “When will we go back? To the sanctuary we love, and these chairs we can stack?! To worship we want despite the dark room. Without it we fear our church will be doomed!” “Fear not!” said the minister, “Return you will soon. And I make you this promise by the light of the moon. To return to our sanctuary would be sweeter than honey. But in order to do that You got to show me the money!” And so on to the 2nd half of this year. New programs I start without any fear. For the people are lovely and love is our test. If we can but pass it, we will be the best. And so I must end by saying,“Adieu! A blessed church year, and a hearty I love you!” |
