Thank you, again, to everyone who took the Congregational Survey, Beyond Categorical Thinking Survey and Workshop, and participated in the Cottage Meetings and Focus Groups. The information we gained from you is invaluable. (Reports on the Beyond Categorical Thinking Survey and the the Cottage Meetings/Focus Groups can be found on our blog.)
During November, the Search Committee considered what you told us as we completed the Unitarian Universalist Association’s (UUA) document packet. The UUA has standard online forms that any Congregation in search of a new Minister must complete. And they want to know a lot! I think the Committee Members are all relieved to have that work completed!
In December, all of that information about our Congregation, our vision for our future, and what we want and expect in a new Minister, will be available to ministers who are in search of a Congregation. These Ministers-in-search will have the month of December to read through the document packets from all of the churches who are in search and to decide which churches sound to them like a good fit.
In January, the UUA will give us a list of Ministers who have expressed an interest in being our next Settled Minister. That’s when the Search Committee will start reading these Minister’s packets, interviewing them and doing background checks. What an exciting time!
Again, thank you so much for your help with this process. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to us at searchcommittee@uuakron.orgSusan Wynn, Co-Chair Ministerial Search Committee
